Stocking up the fridge, doing laundry, cleaning, and winding down after 8 or more hours on your day job. These things are part of recharging and reloading. They’re something we have to do if we want to keep going. However, these things don’t always feel as productive as we would like. They’re not about creating anything. Or are they?

I guess it depends on your mindset. If we start to view these things as a support system for our creativity and ability to work on the things we are truly passionate about then maybe we can find more joy in them. It’s an approach I’m trying to take. Days filled with unavoidable, practical tasks around the house tend to leave me feeling empty like I’m wasting my time. By doing these things with a higher purpose in mind, I hope to combat those feelings as sometimes they can spill over to the rest of my day.

Remembering why we do the things we do sometimes makes them easier to get through.
