Sometimes it can be kind of discouraging watching someone do amazing in the very field you want to make a name for yourself in as well. I find that it can make you realize how far you still have to go to reach that person’s level, which might knock the air out of you.

On the other hand, watching someone do amazing work can also be really inspirational. My own creativity truly comes to life when I watch artists and artisans make epic shit.

Recently, I have found that I can get this creative kick by watching almost any artist from any field do their thing. Today, I watched some dude show off his image compositing technique in photoshop and it really got my creative juices flowing even though I don’t really use photoshop myself. That means I can get my hit of creative energy from someone else without the discouraging side-effect of feeling like I still have a long way to go with my craft.

The best thing about this is that the internet is filled with these amazing people who are posting pictures and videos of their work just to inspire you! Take Adobe’s online creative conference, Adobe Max, for instance. That’s where I have been going in the last couple of days to get an injection of creative energy.
