Do you that nagging feeling in the back of your head when you’re faced with a task you have to deal with, but not quite sure how? The natural response to that is often procrastination. We do something else to try to avoid dealing with that thing. We tell ourselves that something else is more important right now.

For me that doesn’t always drown out the constant thoughts about the looming task at hand. Instead of trying to go for a rest or do something else to feel productive I have found that the best way of dealing with that nagging feeling is to just attack the task. Even if I have no clue about how to approach it, I’ll try different strategies until I find a way that feels right.

By just doing it, I make sure that I clear my head from every thought about it, as I now know, that I have done my best to deal with that task. This way I’m able to actually enjoy the time I take off afterwards and replenish my energy.
