Notes on doing it — Day #351: Create physical proof of your progress
An easy and fun way to stay motivated
Today I filled out the last page of my current notebook. I’ve used it to write a lot of my latest daily articles/blog posts, which is why it was extra satisfying to finish it. It was physical proof of my progress. Proof of all the work I’ve put in lately.
Getting tangible proof of your progress is a great way to stay on track. If you can’t seem to find any evidence of improvements through your views, sales or whatever you’re tracking and you don’t feel like you’re improving, then having that physical testimony to your efforts is a great reminder.
Notebooks obviously aren’t the only way to get physical proof of your progress. Skaters look at the wear and tear on their shoes when they want to be reminded of all the hours they have spent literally grinding.
You can even create the physical proof yourself. Put little balls in a glass cylinder every time you’ve gone for a run and see how fast it fills up!
Mark you calendar every day you’ve maintained that habit you’re trying to build.
The possibilities of creating physical proof are endless. And so is the motivation that comes with it.
