Notes on doing it — Day #353: Just keep showing up
Consistency beats effort
Today I got up at god knows what hour to go for a run of measly 15 minutes. I usually run for more than 15 minutes. But 15 minutes was all that was on the program I’m currently following.
At first I felt quite silly to walk outside in the cold air of the early morning for only 15 minutes of running. But then I was reminded about how effort isn’t always the most important thing when it comes to pushing yourself. Oftentimes the most important thing is simply to show up.
Because if you keep showing up you will definitely go further.
That’s all these past 352 days of writing and publishing an article each day have been all about. Showing up. And it’s the lessons from all of those days that got me out of bed and into my running shoes this morning.
Keep showing up.
