Notes on doing it — Day #357: Get comfortable

Your surroundings effect your work.

On days where writing seems extra hard, I have made it a habit to dress down in full sweats before I put pen to paper. I never really know how long I will be writing for, and getting comfortable makes it easier to accept that fact.

Another benefit of getting comfortable when it’s time to put in work, is the reduction of potential distractions. Working in a messy environment, wearing clothes that’s too tight or sitting in a sub-optimal chair or position can be infuriating when you’re trying to focus on something else.

Therefore I’ll definitely recommend that you invest some time in preparing your surroundings before you get to work.
