Notes on doing it — Day #360: Deal with it

Dealing with issues is often much less time consuming than letting them stress you out.

I wouldn’t call it a conflict. But today I ran into a situation where I was unsure whether or not I was in the wrong or the right. I knew it would be bothering me for the next week if I didn’t find out.

So I went full detective on the case. I wrote down all the details I had and took a thousand screenshots to be able to prove my point and document my thought process, if I would ever have to in the future.

This article isn’t about this “conflict” I had with myself about whether or not I had made a mistake. It’s about how I dealt with it. Because that’s what I did. Dealt with it. And that’s my pint.

I knew the only way to get it out of my head was to deal with it. Get to the bottom of it. Document every detail. And then leave it. Forever probably. Put in a folder somewhere on my computer, where I know I can always dig it out if I have to.

I looked into this thing to a point where I was confident that I had done everything I could to resolve it and move on. And that’s how I moved on.

My advice to you is that you do the same. If you’re ever in a situation where you’re unsure whether you act wisely or not, then find out what actually happened. Leave no doubt in your mind. That way it’s much easier to accept the situation and move on.

Don’t walk around with an unresolved case in the back of your mind. That would drive any detective crazy!
