The easy way to build momentum and self-efficacy

You dream big. Probably so big that the work it requires to achieve your dreams seems impossible to overcome. Which in itself demotivates you to such an extent that it becomes truly impossible to get to where you want to be.

But nothing is impossible for you. And the only thing you need to believe in that is a short string of tiny victories.

According to behavior scientist, BJ Fogg, tiny successes such as establishing the habit of flossing one tooth every day increases your self-efficacy. In other words, when you prove to yourself that you can follow through on the things you set out to do, you build confidence in yourself. Even in areas of life completely unrelated to your tiny success.

By stringing together a series of tiny victories such as running for 5 minutes every other day, drinking an extra cup of water each day, or writing one sentence in your journal every morning you quickly build the motivation to take on much bigger projects.

Personally, writing these posts, consisting of at least one sentence, each day, has led me to believe that I can definitely write a whole book one day.
